Our Writing Skills Test has 20 questions that cover 10 aspects of plain English best practice. The test format is engaging, with a mix of multiple choice, highlight, and drag and drop questions. It tests your knowledge of plain English principles and your skills in applying them to real workplace examples. Read our information sheet for more detail. 

Our short report provides an overall test score and outlines the benchmark to achieve for different writing roles. A communications specialist, for example, should meet a higher benchmark than a subject matter expert. It then breaks down the results across the 10 topics to help identify the candidate’s strengths and areas for improvement. Note that we don’t provide the answers or detailed feedback on responses. 

Yes. Discounts apply when you buy multiple tests. Once you’ve paid, you can access our test portal, where you enter details for each candidate, assign a test to them and set up who needs to receive the test report. The portal helps you to see who has completed a test and who has received their results.
