Rachel Bastow

One should aim not at being possible to understand, but at being impossible to misunderstand.

Rachel has been a teacher since graduating from university. She has taught spoken and written English, and business English, to native and non-native speakers around the world.

As Training Team Manager, Rachel oversees the trainers’ professional development and helps the team prepare for virtual and face-to-face workshops. She also delivers our full range of presentations and workshops. She has worked with clients across Australia, including WA Office of the Auditor General, Financial Ombudsman Service Australia, Department of Premier and Cabinet NSW and the National Archives of Australia.

Before joining the Foundation, Rachel worked as a teacher trainer on the Cambridge CELTA course. She has also written and edited English language course books.

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (HBA Learning Centres)
  • Diploma in English Language Teaching to Adults (University of Cambridge)
  • Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Russian and Italian (University of Exeter)
