Clive Hopkins

Clive’s career as a writer and a teacher has spanned more than 30 years, both in Australia and his native UK. As a writer, he has worked as a journalist and screenwriter, 2 areas where Plain English is essential. He has taught screenwriting at the Universities of Bournemouth and Roehampton and has also taught English to international students in Sydney.

Before joining the Foundation, Clive wrote for publications including the Sydney Morning Herald, SEEK Insights and Resources, and Business Think, interviewing everyone from Brigadier Generals to outback truck mechanics.

Clive is an award-winning screenwriter. His feature film Road Train received the Special Jury Prize at the Melbourne Underground Film Festival and his short film Holiday Romance was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Short Film (Live Action).
