Lucy Bennett




Lucy is an experienced editor with a keen eye for grammar and a passion for concise language. With a background in marketing and publicity, she knows that clear, straightforward communication is crucial to holding an audience’s attention.

She has edited a wide range of projects in the traditional publishing and corporate sectors, from media releases to business reports to novel manuscripts. Her clients with the Foundation include state government agencies such as the NSW Education Standards Authority and the Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal. She also works with commercial and legal clients on their customer-facing documents.

As well as doing in-depth plain English edits and document assessments, Lucy helps develop templates and guides so clients can make lasting improvements to the quality of their writing.

Before joining the Foundation, Lucy worked as a coordinator and project editor for a major commercial publishing house.

Lucy is an active member of the global plain English community and keeps up with all the latest developments through PLAIN. She also attends regular industry events and training sessions.
